Wildlands
The Wildlands are areas not under Kingdom jurisdiction. The laws do not apply here. Infamous players must live in the Wildlands. Other denizens can attack, kill, and loot you without consequence—so stay aware when running low on HP.
Infamy
Infamy measures how much of a criminal you are. Higher Infamy means you are more likely to be attacked on sight by law-abiding warriors, bounty hunters, and patrolling guards.
Gaining Infamy
Criminal acts accrue Infamy: entering restricted areas, theft, attacking innocents, and murder. The amount depends on severity. Killing someone equal or higher level gives a flat amount; killing someone weaker adds a modifier. Group crimes can increase Infamy for all participants.
Killing in the Wildlands does not grant Infamy.
Threshold & Outlaw
Reaching the Outlaw threshold permanently brands you. You cannot go back—Outlaws cannot use Kingdom services.
Losing Infamy
Lawyers can remove Infamy, or you can die to guards. This only works before reaching Outlaw status.
Benefits vs Risks
At launch, Infamy benefits are minimal. Outlaws in the Wildlands may get access to certain areas, but you give up ALL Kingdom services: banking, merchants, quests, class trainers, etc. You will be hunted by NPC and (later) player bounty hunters.
